what others are making
Since I'm currently creatively stunted due to my camera getting stolen and my jewelry supplies in michigan, I've taken to singing loudly in the streets (you feel like you're in a movie and in a city of self-talking crazies no one really notices.) Then I've been going to galleries (more acceptable/predictable behavior) to see what people that are actually successful in the art world are doing.
Terry Richardson's show "Mom and Dad" at the Half Gallery
Terry's show was what you'd expect from him...portraits and objects on a white wall with flash. But I loved it because I love his Dad, a new love of mine. I didn't even know Bob was a photographer himself until recently. Terry had his father's voicemails playing, saying things like "they say if the mother is a jew the child is a jew, but I sent her to the corner store and baptized you while she was gone" or "sucking dick is a acquired taste like caviar"
Standing upon Terry's youthful face, hearing his dad's voice, and being flicked off by his mother simultaneously was a great way to be immersed in the Richardson fam.
Maurizio Cattelan's show "All" at the Guggenheim
Can't stress it enough - This is one of the greatest shows I've seen in a long time! Any show at the Guggenheim is always competing with the building itself...while in line to go in the museum, the Germans I was standing near seemed quite content just photographing the white coils outside. But Cattelan's show hung in the solely in the rotunda...a show at the Guggenheim with NOTHING on the walls. Love this man for his wit, outrageousness, and subtle messages he sends you while still slappin' you across the face.
You have to use the climb of the building to see the show in its entirety. Thus, the show and the building no longer compete, they're essential to each other. BBBAHHHHH (and other noises I can't translate to type), but it's just brilliant. If you're in New York City, go to this show.

Looked Just Like You
While in Europe I became a bit obsessed with doubles (people, signs, dogs, outfits, etc)... some are actual twins, which in my opinion seems a bit rude - it's difficult enough to tell the difference between them!
Dear Blog, I haven't forgotten about you.
It's been a two month hiatus, the lack of "Rita" (my little Mac Book Pro) made blogging from Europe a bit difficult. But I've returned...now only binge blog. Here are a few images from the many (perhaps too many) places I went.
